Dear Students,
If you are a CBSE Class 10 student, I would advise you to carefully check the Science syllabus published by the Central Board of Secondary Education for the Academic Session 2026-27.
You should keep the syllabus with you throughout your preparation and refer to it whenever you start a new chapter or prepare your notes.
For a good student, understanding the syllabus is one of the first steps toward proper preparation. You should prepare your notes according to the prescribed syllabus and also practice questions from previous years’ question papers.
When the board examination comes closer, you may not have enough time to study every chapter from the beginning. At that time, your notes, important questions and previous year papers become very useful for quick revision.
Keeping this in mind, we are adding the CBSE Class 10 Science Syllabus 2026-27 on our website ghanshyamphysics.com for the benefit of students.
You can download the syllabus and keep a copy with you. You can also share it with your friends so that they can download it and start their preparation according to the official syllabus.
Updated CBSE Class 10 Science Syllabus 2026-27
CBSE Class 10 Science Syllabus
The Class 10 Science syllabus covers important concepts from Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
The theory examination carries 80 marks, while 20 marks are assigned to Internal Assessment. Students should therefore give proper attention to both theory preparation and practical or internal assessment activities.
The syllabus is divided into five major units:
Unit I, Chemical Substances, Nature and Behaviour
Unit II, World of Living
Unit III, Natural Phenomena
Unit IV, Effects of Current
Unit V, Natural Resources
Students should study every unit carefully instead of preparing only selected chapters.
My advice to Class 10 students is to first complete the complete syllabus and then begin systematic revision. Do not wait until the last few months to start your preparation.
Science requires both conceptual understanding and regular practice. In Physics, you should practice numerical problems and understand the concepts behind the formulas. In Chemistry, focus on reactions, equations, properties and important concepts. In Biology, pay attention to processes, diagrams, definitions and explanations.
You should also solve previous year question papers after completing your chapters. This will help you understand the type of questions generally asked in the examination and improve your answer writing practice.
How to Prepare Class 10 Science
A simple preparation strategy can make your study more organized.
First, keep the complete syllabus in front of you.
Second, divide the syllabus into smaller chapters and topics.
Third, prepare short and clear notes while studying.
Fourth, practice numerical questions regularly.
Fifth, revise important diagrams, definitions, reactions and formulas.
Sixth, solve previous year question papers and sample papers.
Finally, revise the complete syllabus before the examination.
Remember that completing the syllabus is only the first step. You should also revise the topics multiple times so that you can recall them during the examination.
Give Importance to All Three Subjects
Science includes Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students often focus more on the topics they find easy and leave difficult chapters for later.
You should avoid this approach.
Give sufficient time to all three areas. If you find a particular chapter difficult, give it additional practice instead of skipping it.
Regular study is more useful than studying a large portion of the syllabus at the last moment.

Students can download the updated Class 10 Science Syllabus 2026-27 and use it while preparing their notes and study schedule.
Keep the syllabus on your Study Table and mark each chapter after completing its preparation.
This simple habit will help you track your progress and make your preparation more organized.
A good student should aim to understand the complete syllabus and prepare every topic properly. Your goal should not be limited to passing the examination. Try to build strong concepts that will also help you in your higher classes.
Class 10 is an important stage in your academic journey. The preparation habits you develop now can help you in Class 11, Class 12 and competitive examinations as well.
I, Ghanshyam Kumar Srivastava, Physics Teacher & Mentor, wish all Class 10 students the very best for their studies and upcoming board examinations.
Thank you.
